Smart farming
A farmer of a traditionally cultivated (without precision farming techniques) notices that the fields do not produce crops uniformly. The farmer aims to identify areas that need improvement, optimise resource allocation (such as irrigation and fertilization), and ultimately increase overall crop production efficiency.
By combining site-specific yield data, orthophotos, and land parcel data, the farmer can visualize the yield performance of different areas of the farm. This enables targeted decision-making, such as adjusting irrigation, fertilization, or planting practices for specific fields or parts of fields based on their individual productivity.

The Smart City use case provides access to unique datasets offering valuable insights into the daily activities and environment of urban residents in the Helsinki and Espoo region.
Telia trip, Telia visitation and Telia foot traffic datasets provide an opportunity to inspect and analyze visit patterns in urban hotspots such as metro stations and shopping centres, complemented by regionally relevant sensor datasets of beach water temperatures and urban noise levels from Forum Virium. Additionally, a 3D building dataset of the Jätkäsaari (from the City of Helsinki) area gives an insight into regional urban planning in one of the fastest-growing residential areas of Helsinki. The provided datasets create opportunities to innovate and explore geospatial features such as spatial connectivity as well as environmental factors across Finland’s capital region.
